Traitor
trajectory tracking
The TRAITOR project (an acronym for “innovative system for trajectory tracking in manufacturing processes”) aims to develop an integrated system capable of facilitating cobot programming. The system will enable shop-floor or factory operators to be replaced by cobots in tasks involving moving parts or tools that pose a high risk of serious injury (such as cutting machines, milling machines, welding units, painting equipment, etc.). Specifically, the project aims to create a tracking pen capable of achieving sub-centimeter resolution, even in industrial environments.
The project’s core concept is to extend the principles of smart and safe production to small and medium-sized enterprises, where human-machine interaction still largely relies on manual processes. By utilizing collaborative robots, a production method based on synergy between the operator and the work tool will be established; this will ensure complete safety during processing stages, as well as high efficiency and precision, while minimizing production waste.
The TRAITOR Project
Innovative system for trajectory tracking in manufacturing production processes
The project’s primary goal is to extend the Industry 4.0 concept to small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises by offering an innovative yet cost-effective, intuitive, safe, and reliable system to support production. In this context, the “smart factory” concept will be introduced into production environments where manual labor remains prevalent, aiming to create a safer workplace while boosting productivity and reducing manufacturing defects, raw material waste, and energy consumption per unit produced, as well as minimizing the environmental impact of waste disposal. The proposed system is so innovative that no prior programming knowledge is required to configure the cobot.
The TRAITOR device will provide innovative support to SMEs operating in environments requiring high operational flexibility—specifically for non-standard tasks that vary in type and volume, and which involve significant product and process variability.
